The dual-input manometer-thermometer is a portable instrument with LCD display designed for measurements of absolute, relative, differential pressure and temperature, intended for applications where working on two measurement channels and directly comparing acquired values is useful.
The presence of two inputs allows compatible modules and probes to be connected in order to perform measurements on two different points, or to combine pressure and temperature within the same testing activity. The instrument can also display the difference between the two inputs, a useful function when comparing two pressures, verifying a pressure drop or monitoring trends between two points in a system.
For pressure measurement, the instrument uses the PP471 electronic module, to be combined with TP704 and TP705 series probes. The probe range allows operation with differential, relative and absolute pressure measurements, using different ranges and connection types, making the instrument suitable for pneumatic systems, hydraulic circuits, HVAC installations, test benches and maintenance checks.
Temperature is measured using Pt100 probes with SICRAM module or direct 4-wire Pt100 probes, available in immersion, penetration, surface contact and air versions. The temperature range extends from -200 °C…+650 °C, allowing the instrument to be used also in applications where pressure and temperature must be evaluated simultaneously.
Compared to the single-input portable model, this version adds more advanced functions: RS232C serial port for real-time data transfer to PC or printer, display of channel difference and PEAK function for pressure peak detection. REL, HOLD, maximum, minimum, average and selectable auto power-off functions are also available.
It is recommended when internal datalogging is not yet required, but dual inputs, real-time data communication and more advanced control functions compared to a basic manometer-thermometer are necessary.
Applications
- Pressure and temperature measurements on two independent inputs
- Comparison between two pressure points with differential channel display
- Checks on pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, HVAC installations and process equipment
- Detection of pressure peaks using PEAK function
- Real-time transfer of measurements to PC or printer via RS232C
- Maintenance activities where pressure and temperature must be monitored during the same intervention
- Use with immersion, penetration, surface contact or air Pt100 probes
- Use with differential, relative or absolute pressure probes according to the required range
FAQ – Dual-input manometer-thermometer
What are the two inputs of the manometer-thermometer used for?
The two inputs allow two measurement channels to be connected and values to be compared directly. This configuration is useful for measurements at two points of a system, for checking pressure differences or for combining pressure and temperature measurements.
What is the difference compared to the single-input portable model?
The single-input model is simpler and intended for spot measurements. The dual-input version allows channel comparison, differential display, real-time data transfer and pressure peak detection.
What does the PEAK function do?
The PEAK function detects pressure peaks that may not be easily visible with normal readings. It is useful on systems where rapid or transient variations may occur.
Can it be connected to a PC?
Yes, the instrument includes an RS232C serial port for transferring measurements in real time to a PC or compatible printer. For connection to a PC USB port, a dedicated USB converter accessory is required.
Does this model store data internally?
No, this version is designed for communication and real-time transfer. For internal data logging, the dual-input datalogger version is recommended.
Which temperature probes are compatible?
It can use Pt100 probes with SICRAM module or direct 4-wire Pt100 probes. Probes can be selected according to the measurement type: immersion, penetration, surface contact or air.
Are the probes included with the instrument?
No, pressure probes, Pt100 probes and the PP471 module must be selected separately according to the measurement range and application type. This configuration allows only the accessories actually required for the application to be combined with the instrument.
Is the PP471 module required for pressure measurements?
Yes, compatible pressure probes require the PP471 module, which acts as the interface between the instrument and TP704 or TP705 series probes.
When should this model be selected instead of the datalogger version?
It is suitable when dual-input operation and real-time data transfer are required, but long-term internal data storage is not necessary. If measurement trends over time must be documented, the datalogger version is preferable.
