Devices employed to evaluate hardness through indentation tests run by applying a fixed load for a known time on a penetrator in contact with the sample.

The shape, the size, the material and the mass of the penetrator determine the hardness scale read by the instrument.

Bench hardness testers are recommended for metrological laboratories and every application which demands maximum accuracy and repeatability.
