The Pt100/Pt1000 and thermocouple thermometer is a dual-input portable instrument designed for temperature measurement using two different sensor technologies: Pt100/Pt1000 RTD probes and thermocouples. It is suitable when the application requires either high-stability RTD sensors or thermocouples for extended temperature ranges and fast response times.
The instrument features one input for 3-wire or 4-wire Pt100 probes and 2-wire Pt1000 probes, with 8-pole connector and SICRAM module compatibility, plus one dedicated input for K, J, T, N and E thermocouples with standard polarized miniature connector. This configuration makes the instrument more flexible than standard Pt100 thermometers, allowing the most suitable probe type to be selected according to the application: immersion, penetration, surface or air measurements.
With Pt100/Pt1000 probes, the measuring range is -200 to +650 °C, while with thermocouples the range varies according to the connected type: K -200 to +1370 °C, J -100 to +750 °C, T -200 to +400 °C, N -200 to +1300 °C, E -200 to +750 °C. The resolution is 0.1 °C, with selectable units in °C and °F.
RTD probes equipped with SICRAM module technology are automatically recognized by the instrument and internally store calibration data. This allows safe and correct probe association, especially when different sensors are used for different applications.
The thermocouple input considerably extends the operating range. Pt100/Pt1000 RTD probes are generally preferred where stability, accuratezza and repeatable measurements are required over a wide range, while thermocouples are more suitable for fast response, lightweight probes, high-temperature applications or measurements in difficult-to-access areas.
The instrument includes RS232C output for real-time data transfer to PC or portable printers. Baud rate can be configured from 1200 to 38400 baud, and print interval can be immediate or menu-configurable. For USB connection to a PC, a dedicated USB/serial converter is required.
Functions include Max, Min and Avg, relative measurement REL, HOLD and selectable auto power-off. Its IP66 protection rating makes the instrument suitable for field use, laboratory work, maintenance and industrial inspections.
Pt100/Pt1000 RTD probes comply with IEC 60751, defining platinum sensor tolerance classes. Thermocouples comply with IEC 60584-1:2013, defining tolerance classes and operating ranges for thermocouple types.
