Dual-Input Pt100/Pt1000 datalogger thermometer – HD2127.2

Dual-Input Pt100/Pt1000 datalogger thermometer – HD2127.2

The dual-input Pt100/Pt1000 datalogger thermometer is a portable instrument designed for temperature measurements with two independent channels and internal recording capability. It is intended for applications where two temperatures must be monitored over time, compared and documented throughout the test.

The instrument operates with 3-wire or 4-wire Pt100 probes and 2-wire Pt1000 probes, with a measuring range from -200 to +650 °C. Available measurement units are °C, °F and K.

The presence of two measurement inputs allows simultaneous acquisition of two temperatures and display of the A-B differential value. This function is particularly useful for comparison tests, thermal system inspections, heat exchanger verification, ambient-versus-component measurements and applications where the temperature delta between two points must be recorded over time.

The datalogger function can store up to 32,000 total samples on channels A and B, organized in paired sample pages. Logging intervals can be configured at 1, 5, 10, 15 or 30 seconds, or 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 minutes and 1 hour. Stored data remains protected independently of battery charge status.

Data transfer can be performed via RS232C or USB 2.0. The USB connection of datalogger models operates as an HID device, therefore PC connection with CP23 cable does not require installation of dedicated USB drivers. Through the RS232C interface it is also possible to connect a compatible portable printer using the dedicated cable.

Probes equipped with SICRAM module technology are automatically recognized by the instrument and internally store calibration data. The available probe range includes immersion, penetration, surface and air probes, as well as dedicated solutions for specific applications.

The instrument includes Max, Min and Avg functions, relative measurement REL, HOLD function and selectable auto power-off. Its IP66 protection rating makes it suitable for field testing, laboratory monitoring, inspections and industrial controls.

Pt100/Pt1000 RTD probes comply with IEC 60751, the standard defining sensor tolerance classes. For microclimate and radiant heat measurements, globe thermometer probes are also available with accuracy according to ISO 7243 and ISO 7726.

Applications

  • Simultaneous recording of two temperatures with Pt100 or Pt1000 probes
  • Monitoring of thermal differential between two points using A-B function
  • Inspections on plants, heat exchangers, thermal processes and laboratory tests
  • Immersion, penetration, surface and air measurements
  • Data storage with configurable logging intervals
  • Data transfer to PC via RS232C or USB 2.0
  • Connection to portable printers through serial interface
  • Measurement campaigns where documentation of two temperature trends is required

FAQ – Dual-Input Pt100/Pt1000 datalogger thermometer

When should a dual-input Pt100 datalogger thermometer be selected?
It is suitable when two temperatures must be recorded and compared over time. It is useful for testing, inspections, monitoring activities and applications where thermal differential must be documented.

What is the difference compared to the non-datalogger dual-input version?
The non-datalogger version allows reading and real-time transfer via RS232C. The datalogger version adds internal memory, USB connection and recording capability.

What is the difference compared to a single-input datalogger?
The single-input datalogger records only one temperature. The dual-input version records two channels and displays the A-B differential between the measured temperatures.

How much data can it store?
It can store up to 32,000 total samples on channels A and B, with configurable logging intervals.

Which logging intervals are available?
Selectable intervals are 1, 5, 10, 15 or 30 seconds, or 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 minutes and 1 hour.

Does the USB connection require drivers?
No. The USB port of the datalogger model operates as an HID device. With CP23 cable, PC connection does not require dedicated USB drivers.

Which probes can it use?
It can operate with 3-wire or 4-wire Pt100 probes and 2-wire Pt1000 probes, available in immersion, penetration, surface and air versions.

Are probes included?
No. Probes must be ordered separately according to measuring range, response time and actual application requirements.

What is the purpose of the A-B function during logging?
It allows continuous monitoring of the temperature difference between two points during the test. This is useful, for example, for checking variations between inlet and outlet temperatures of a system or between two points of the same process.
