The impact tester is designed for a wide range of impact tests and is compatible with various coatings, such as paint, varnish, waterbased
wood coatings, high-viscosity plastic coatings, and laminated coatings. It can also be used in the building industry to test the penetration of different materials, including plastic, resin, fiberglass, metal sheets, and plywood.

There are two main testing methods: The pass/fail test involves dropping a standard-weight hammer from a set height to see if the result meets the standard while the grading test involves gradually increasing the height and/or mass of the hammer to determine the minimum mass and/or height at which the coating layer cracks or separates from the substrate.
