Rotational Abrasion Testers – SAAB522 – SAAB523

The rotational abrasion tester is used primarily to evaluate the abrasion resistance of various coatings through rotary rubbing.

The sample is placed on the tester’s rotary plate and subjected to abrasion by two abrasive wheels under a determined pressure. As the sample spins on the plate, the abrasive wheels rotate over it, causing
abrasion. This setup allows abrasion resistance to be assessed comprehensively from all angles.

The tested area corresponds to a circular surface of 30 cm².

The degree of abrasion depends on the applied loading force, which can be 500g, 750g, or 1000g.
