Buchholz indentation hardness tester - SA510
Instrument employed to evaluate hardness of mono or multicoated paints. A beveled disc with a sharp edge is applied onto the test surface under a constant load of 500g, provided by a steel block holder, for a 30 seconds timespan.
The trace left after the test is measured with a 20X magnification illuminated microscope. The depth of the indentation is inversely proportional to the sample hardness.
