The SAUV852 bench UV light accelerated aging chamber is equipped with three UV lamps as light sources. The operator can set the total illumination time, temperature, and spray time to simulate the effects of natural environmental exposure on samples.
This chamber can accommodate up to 18 standard panels (150×70mm). Samples are placed on a rotating drum inside the chamber. During the test, the sample rack rotates uniformly, ensuring that each sample receives the same amount of irradiance energy, which improves the comparability and repeatability of the test results.
Excessive UV exposure can degrade many materials, reducing their resistance to atmospheric conditions. UV lamps in the chamber simulate specific wavelengths of the solar spectrum. Operators can choose different wavelength UV lamps based on testing requirements.
UVA and UVB lamps are available, each producing different irradiance energies and wavelengths. UVA lamps provide a realistic simulation of sunlight in the short-wave range and are commonly used to test sun damage effects. UVB lamps, have shorter wavelengths and create a more severe and less realistic environment. They are suitable for testing very durable materials typically exposed to intense sunlight for long periods.
