The reflectance meter<\/strong> is a portable instrument used to evaluate the reflectance of a surface<\/strong> and the hiding power<\/strong> of coatings, films, paints, inks, plastics and materials compatible with the measurement method.<\/p>\n

When light strikes a surface, part of it is reflected, part is absorbed and, in some cases, part is transmitted or scattered depending on the material, color and applied thickness. The reflectance meter makes it possible to quantify the response of the surface to light, making inspection more objective than visual assessment alone.<\/p>\n

The instrument is particularly useful when it is necessary to verify how effectively a coating, paint, film or applied material covers the underlying substrate. It is therefore used for hiding power<\/strong> checks, relative transparency assessment and comparison between samples applied over different backgrounds.<\/p>\n
