Salt spray tests are generally employed to produce rapid comparisons between expected and real corrosion resistance.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How the test works?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The tests are conducted in a <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.samatools.it\/en\/product\/salt-spray-fog-cabinets-sassc\/\">closed test chamber<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A salt-water solution is applied to a sample through a spray nozzle.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This produces a corrosive environment of dense saline fog to emulate a corrosive experiment.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The appearance of corrosion products (oxides) is evaluated after a period.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The more corrosion resistant the coating is the longer will be the period in testing without showing signs of corrosion.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tests can take between 24 and over 1000 hours for certain coatings.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Salt spray test to check corrosion resistance<\/h2>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\r\n<iframe title=\"Salt spray test to check corrosion resistance\" width=\"1680\" height=\"945\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vP0Pl0-Gyug?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
