Spirit levels and electronic levels

Levels are instruments used to check the correct alignment and inclination of surfaces, structures, and mechanical components. Used in workshops, industrial assembly, maintenance, and quality control, they allow flatness and parallelism to be checked quickly during machining and installation operations.

The spirit level is the most common solution for levelling checks. Thanks to the vial containing liquid and an air bubble, it allows the horizontality or verticality of a surface to be checked in a simple and immediate way. Linear versions are frequently used for checking guideways, machinery, metal structures, and fabricated assemblies.

Alongside traditional models, electronic levels and digital inclinometers are also available. These instruments are designed to display inclination directly on a digital screen. Electronic levels are particularly useful in applications where fast reading and immediate verification of angle or slope are required.

Professional levels are manufactured from durable materials such as steel, aluminium, or cast iron to ensure stability and long-term durability, even in demanding industrial environments. Some models are equipped with magnetic bases for fixing onto metal surfaces, a feature that is particularly useful during assembly and alignment operations.

The choice of level depends on the type of application, the required sensitivity, and the geometry of the component to be checked. From simple levelling checks to more accurate mechanical alignment operations, these instruments are an essential support in measurement and geometric inspection activities.
