The crimping test stand is a complete manual system designed to verify the retention force of cables, terminals, cable lugs and crimped connections. The test measures the maximum load reached during tensile loading, providing objective data for quality control of the termination.

The configuration includes a horizontal lever-operated test stand, a SADFG-P high-accuracy digital force gauge, the SAC-18 rotating attachment, connection cable and acquisition software. The system is therefore ready to perform manual tensile tests up to 500 N.

To carry out the test, the cable is secured in the test-stand clamp, while the crimped terminal is placed in the most suitable slot of the SAC-18 rotating attachment. The operator then actuates the lever, progressively applying tensile force along the axis of the sample.

The test continues until conductor pull-out, terminal detachment, cable breakage or the condition established for the check is reached. The force gauge detects force throughout the pull test and keeps the maximum peak value visible.

The measured value does not automatically determine conformity. The test stand and force gauge provide the test data, while the user must compare the results with the limits, specifications or acceptance criteria applicable to the cable and terminal being checked.

The SAC-18 rotating attachment has twelve slots of different widths, allowing the gripping point to be adapted to the size of the terminals under test. Its rotating design makes it possible to select the most suitable slot quickly without changing the accessory each time.

The horizontal structure keeps the sample aligned during tensile loading and allows force to be applied more stably than in a test performed while holding the force gauge by hand. The lever mechanism provides direct movement control and makes the system quick to set up, even when several samples need to be checked.

The SADFG-P force-gauge software provides two methods for managing results. By connecting the instrument to a PC during the test, force variation can be acquired in real time and displayed as a force/time curve, showing how the load changes until the connection fails.

The software also allows peak values stored in the force gauge to be transferred to a computer. Data and graph images can be exported, average and peak values can be calculated over the entire curve or a selected section, and acquisition start and stop conditions can be set.

The load curve helps analyse the tensile test and identify any changes before the maximum value is reached. The software acquires and displays the data but does not independently determine whether the crimp is compliant.

The test stand is suitable for production sampling checks, laboratory testing and quality-control activities. It can be used to compare terminals, cable sections or different batches while maintaining the same test configuration.

A calibration report is available on request for the force gauge included in the system.
