Magnetic coating thickness gauges – non destructive testing devices able to measure the coating thickness making use of the magnetic principles. Mikrotest gauges are the result of 40 years of technological development and were the very first NDT instruments to measure coatings. The various available models can be divided in automatic and standard, analogical and digital and able to operate on ferromagnetic substrate or non ferromagnetic ones. Most common uses are in maritime maintenance (bulkheads, tanks etc.) and pressurized containers control (fire estinguishers, gas tanks, industrial boilers etc.).
